How to apply for the Bono Joven rental voucher in Madrid and its requirements

In this new edition of #BlogMeiT we leave you an article on how to apply for the Bono Joven de alquiler in Madrid and its requirements.

This voucher is only for for young people between 18 and 35 years old and consists of a grant of 250 euros 250 euros for those young people who meet the requirements that we will discuss later on. It must be taken into account that each autonomous community has different requirements and ways of applying to the bono joven de alquiler. This measure arrives in Madrid this September after 7 months, since the government announced it in January.


When can you apply?

On January 18, 2022, the application deadlines for the bono joven del alquiler were opened in different autonomous communities.

In the case of Madrid, the Bono Alquiler Joven subsidies can be applied for as of September 21, 2022. At last, the deadline to apply for this aid has been enabled indefinitely.

250 per month for a maximum of 24 months.


How can you apply for the voucher?

In order to apply for the bono joven de alquiler in Madrid, you must go to any Housing office of the Community of Madrid o request it telematically. These options vary depending on each autonomous community.

In person

Access the directory of registration offices of the Community of Madrid. HERE, from any of these offices you will be able to apply for the Bono Joven de Alquiler. 



In order to apply for the bono joven de alquiler, you must follow certain requirements that are the same for all the autonomous communities. 

First you must be between 18 and 35 years old to be eligible for the 250 euros, you must also have a job in which your income is income are less than 24,318 euros per year.

There are some requirements that each autonomous community can slightly modify, in the case of the maximum amount of rent, it must be 600 euros, but each autonomous community can extend it up to 900 euros.

Another requirement to be eligible for the voucher is that the home for which it is requested, must be the habitual residence. It is also necessary to have been working for at least 3 months to be able to get the 250 euros.

The last two aspects that we have to take into account when applying for the bono joven de alquiler are that the applicants for the 250 euros cannot have a family relationship and the second one is that the same homeowners, cannot apply for the bono jovenas it will not be granted to them.



In order to apply for the Bono Jóven rental voucher, you must attach the following documentation:

  • The lease agreement.
  • The certificate of collective and historical registration.
  • Copy of the long-term residence permit or temporary residence permit, in the case of non-EU foreigners.
  • Proof of rent payments for the monthly payments due at the date of the application for assistance. 
  • Income tax return or certificate of imputations of the AEAT and/or other supporting documentation of the annual income of 2021 of the tenants and of the adults that compose the cohabitation unit, if applicable.
  • Proof of a regular source of income.
  • If the Bono Alquiler Joven has been enjoyed in another Autonomous Community or Autonomous City, a certificate issued by the Administration of origin must be provided indicating the amounts and monthly payments already recognized. 
  • Location Note provided by the Index Service of the Land Registry, of ownerships registered in favor of the applicant and of all the persons who have their habitual and permanent residence in the rented or assigned dwelling.
  • If the Location Note indicates that it is the owner of another property, a Simple Note from the Property Registry referring to the same must be provided and, if applicable, documentation accrediting that the property is not available.
